Citipati was an oviraptorosaur from Late Cretaceous Mongolia named after the ancient Sanskrit god.
Facts[]
Citipati ('funeral fire lizard') was a species of Mongolian oviraptosaur. It was similar to the type species Oviraptor, and was confused with it initially. It was about 2 meters long, and thus smaller than both Chirostenotes and Gigantoraptor. However, just like them, Citipati had a crest on its head and a practically toothless beak.
