Edmontosaurus regalis, was a hadrosaurid dinosaur, a

member of the ornithischian dinosaurs and the most common groups of dinosaurs in the Late Cretaceous.

Facts

These herbivores were big dinosaurs with massive tails, measuring over 13 meters/40 feet long, stood 13 feet at the hips, and weighed nearly 4-6 tons, about the size of a railroad box car. These duck-billed dinosaurs lived in groups to herds. When feeding, huge batteries of chewing teeth made short work of the vegetation they ate. It had a small crest on the top of its head.

Edmontosaurus regalis was a cousin of Saurolophus from Chased by Dinosaurs episode "The Giant Claw". Like Saurolophus, it had a bony beak and batteries of self-replacing teeth that it used to chew various vegetation, primarily branches and leaves of various coniferous and broadleaf plants of the Late Cretaceous.

Initially, paleontologists thought that hadrosaurs were aquatic reptiles, but later studies proved them wrong - just like with sauropods, the hadrosaurs were largely terrestrial creatures, as reflected throughout the Walking with... Series.
