Compsognathus is a small theropod from the Late Jurassic. At just 1 m in length it was one of the smallest dinosaurs that have ever been found by scientists, but it is also one of the more complete. It was found in Germany alongside one of the first birds, Archaeopteryx. It was a predator and belonged to the Coelurosaur branch of the dinosaur tree.
