The Sauropodomorpha dinosaurs are a branch of Saurischian, or lizard-hipped dinosaurs, and are close cousins to the carnivorous theropods; however, their own diet was herbivorous, like that of the ornitischia dinosaurs (ceratopsians and co.).

Despite casual seperation, two groups of Sauropodomorpha dinosaurs, the Prosauropods and the Sauropods proper, where not tow seperate groups. "Prosauropods" like Massospondylus and Plateosaurus lived during the late Triassic and early Jurassic time periods; Sauropods - during the late Jurassic and Cretaceous.

Prehistoric Park

From the third episode onwards Prehistoric Park featured a herd of Titanosaurs. Nigel Marven had rescued them from a volcano eruption in early Cretaceous China and brought them to the Prehistoric Park. From then on the titanosaurs roamed through the Prehistoric Park, eating all sorts of vegetation, knocking down fences and generally aggravating Bob the Groundskeeper.

On the other hand, they were instrumental in rescuing Nigel and his team from a Carboniferous fire in episode 5, when Nigel and his team were stuck in a Carboniferous swamp.
