Sordes was a small pterosaur that lived during the Late Jurassic period in what is now Asia.
Facts[]
Sordes was first described in 1971 by Soviet paleontologist Aleksandr Grigorevich Sharov from a crushed but relatively complete skeleton. It had relatively short wings and had a wingspan of around 2 feet (0.63 m). Fossils of Sordes show it possessed a dense layer of hair-like filaments, called pycnofibres, which aided in insulation and body heat retention.
