Stegoceras, ("roof horn"), was a Pachycephelosaur dinosaur from North America.
Facts[]
Stegoceras was a "bone-headed, or a pachycephalosaur dinosaur, and a relative of Pachycephalosaurus itself, but at about 3 m in length, it was a much smaller dinosaur; it also lived at a slightly earlier period of Cretaceous than Pachycephalosaurus did.
Unlike in the case of Pachycephalosaurus, where the arguments of whether or not the larger reptile used its head for butting or just for displays, for Stegoceras, the decision is largely settled: yes, it used its head as a weapon, just as the modern bighorn sheep and musk-ox do.
