Thelyphonida is an arachnid order comprising invertebrates commonly known as vinegaroons (also spelled vinegarroons and vinegarones). They are often called uropygids in the scientific community after the former order Uropygi (which originally also included the order Schizomida). They are also known as whip scorpions because of their resemblance to true scorpions and because of their whiplike tail.

New Blood[]
During an intense drought, a whip scorpion took refuge inside a Postosuchus skull. It is then attacked by a female Coelophysis and tries to defend itself from its attacker before being eaten.
Trivia[]
- The whip scorpion is only present in the German cut and was deleted from all other editions of the episode, likely due to time constraints.
- An adaptation of the scene is present in the tie-in book alongside a promotional image depicting the Coelophysis with the skull.
- A still of the actual scene was used to represent another whip scorpion in the Big Al Game.
